How Much Does Coffee Cost at Restaurants & Coffee Shops?

Cost at Coffee Shop Clearly when coffee is ordered at a coffee shop or at a restaurant, it costs a lot more than when it is either instant or most gourmet DIY blends which are served up. Certainly it matters where it is being bought, with convenience and location both much affecting price.

For basic coffee, expect to pay $1.25 to $2.00 at a restaurant. This may or may not come with refills. The specialty coffee shop, however, is ready with some very defined choices and although you can get a coffee of the day at Starbucks for a dollar and change, their lattes and gourmet coffees are being prepared by hand. A Venti Caramel Brulee or a Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino brings $4.95.

The second largest coffee house in the county, Caribou Coffee, offers flavored drinks including $4.00 for a caramel highrise although some less costly as well.

Fast food restaurants are among the lowest priced (although McDonalds now offers gourmet coffee's and frozen coffee drinks as of the summer of 2012).

Upscale restaurants also offer blends such as espresso, costing around $2.00 to $2.25, Cappuccino, at $3.00 to $3.50 (flavors slightly more) and they may also offer liqueur coffees depending on the type of restaurant. Some eateries do give free refills and some do so from time to time - but this is one way that the customer feels that he or she is getting more than what is being paid for.
