How Much Does USPS Express Mail Cost for Packages
On January 22, 2017, the USPS expressed that it still will not offer the option of sending boxes at a Flat rate, via Express Mail, continuing with its January 17, 2016 announcement.
Up until then, the rate stood at $44.95.
Similar Mail ServicesA parcel previously sent by Flat rate Express, might now also be sent via a non-Flat rate that is based on the Zone the package is being shipped. Pricing for Priority Mail Express is based on a minimum package weight of up to 1/2 pound for which cost start at $24.70.
Keep in mind, however, that this represents the least expensive Zone of destination and the cost may be over twice this amount for other Zones being shipped. Fees for other, heavier parcels are graduated by increments of weight by Zone.
To be sendable by the USPS: the flat rate applies to packages that are up to 70 pounds in weight and that have contents that fit within the USPS provided box - a container openable from the side (13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8") or the top (11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2").
